User Experience Design Intern

Aires has an opportunity for a User Experience (UX) Design Intern (Summer 2017) available in our Pittsburgh, PA corporate office.  This is a full time, paid internship lasting approximately 12 weeks.  You'll have the opportunity to learn and grow professionally in a high growth environment where you'll apply human-centered design thinking to help create and improve our web applications that are used by hundreds and thousands of people all around the world every day.

This is an amazing hands-on opportunity to be involved with every phase of the product design process (user research, wire framing, prototyping, visual design, etc.).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Lead User Experience Designer and design team in project work
  • Conduct user research and interviews
  • Synthesize and organize information to inform design decisions and provide holistic views.
  • Contribute to ideation sessions and design reviews.
  • Create design artifacts such as whiteboard sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and mockups.
  • Validate design assumptions through continuous user testing and research.


  • Minimum Sophomore status – junior, senior or master’s preferred, with significant coursework in User Experience or Human-Centered Design; or in the second year of a 2 year technical school in pursuit of a similar degree
  • Track record of achievement – high GPA (3.0 or above), extracurricular or volunteer activities
  • Competency with graphics programs such as Sketch, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • A passion for creating products with great user experiences.
  • Must enjoy the challenge of understanding complex ecosystems
  • A love for whiteboards and visual communication
